In early 2018, after many years of working in the Healthcare IT field, having weathered corporate politics & layoffs, and tired of the California rat race, it was time to literally change my latitude and shift gears into a more independent line of work!
After one particular soul searching road trip, I instantly fell in love with the Flathead Valley and relocation plans were immediately put into action! But what to do? I quickly realized that Kalispell was lacking in the nutrition focused, social pet-hub type of store that offered quality products & services I was so accustomed to providing for my (then) beautiful & sweet Border Collie, Dakota.
Then I found Josh & Holly, the founders of Dee-O-Gee! Their vision, style and attention to quality aligned with my passion. That and I was selfishly wanting to find a way to always have my dog with me at work! Partnering with them was a “no-brainer”.
I made the long but rewarding journey to settle into this beautiful area and although Dakota was unable to make the journey with me, she is the inspiration and spirit behind this adventure. (RIP sweet girl!) She is loved but not forgotten and my new best friend Max, an equally loving and sweet Border Collie, now takes up the mantle of carrying her legacy forward.
In August of 2019, the concept to vision of opening a Dee-O-Gee here in the Flathead Valley was made a reality and Max & I have never looked back!
I am grateful that you have taken the time to read this “backstory”! Max and I look forward to doing great things with the Dee-O-Gee brand and will always strive to create a fun pet-hub for our 4-legged family members. Humans too!
